7. The benefit of this system is that extra servers could be allocated as these should be popular hang outs that people like to meet at.

Thats a good start, i like all of your suggetsions,
i believe that planets is the next step for eve, read my idea and try to imagine the world of eve.
1) Dock on planets as docking in a station.
2) Do you remember B&G( Baldurs Gate )or Fallout 1 and 2? rpg style, walk on the planet,claim regions of a planet, fight for liberty or dictatory,for power or more power,for good or evil using, your racial bonuses, if you are gallente hybrid hand guns and shot guns, ammar character laser guns and so on,
use the same principals as the space part of eve, mining, pvping , manufacturing trading , and what for? For isk of course, planets can be the perfect mining field for miners extracting the same minerals as from belts, minerals then can be transferred to space for use in building equipment( ship, outposts, modules etc)
3) the idea will be the same as the space part, fortress instead station, safe ground as safe space and 0.0,
4) extra futures as taverns, bars ,gun shops ,hotels , hospitals Baldurs gate style gameplay.
5)the pvp part I think will be fun,cowboys rope for warp scrabler, freeze guns for webs, laser targeting guns as traking links and so on
6)mining thatÆs has to be the most complicated, use machines that extracts ore from the ground, cars to move the ore in a safe warehouse,
7) manufacture everything you can possible use with BBOÆs and BBCÆs , in factoryÆs that people can built and rent to others, 8) If you donÆt want to go to planets fine, donÆt you can do the same in space itÆs just the interface that changes
I have so many ideas in my mind, I cannot type it all here.
Lastly I believe that it is possible, some extra nodes and a major patch, CCP your citizens needs a change.
